Aiyer's in a little legal limbo
Houston Community College Trustee Jay Aiyer got a blast from the past this week that he didn't see coming. Aiyer has been charged with tampering with a government document. The charges were levied in the Harris County Criminal Courts. However, nobody knew about it... until now. Most of his close friends and associates are shocked by the charges. What's really bizarre is apparently the charge stemmed from that campaign finance report complaint filed more than two years ago. Remember? Yea, I know.. Sue Lovell and Jay Aiyer, ancient political history. Guess sometimes nasty politics can slither back up when you least expect it. Aiyer, who is an attorney by trade, is working with his advisers and his own attorney. Aiyer says he's taking this very seriously, and believes it will be resolved quickly.

must be election time again. people tampering with government documents should be prosecuted.

Jay always bragged he was the Longest reigning Chief of Staff for Mayor Lee Brown. Now he can add to his resume....
Only Former Chief of Staff of Lee Brown to be indited by a Harris County Grand Jury.

From little acorns might oak trees grow. Reckon how much other stuff will come to light once the D.A.'s office puts the opener to the worm can. Maybe some other Brown staffers should seek counsel - possibly even some White hold-overs. Monique McGilbra, make room for company.

Finally. Eyes on the corrupt HCC board members. I expect this indictment to be the first of many. They decisions have always been "For Sale." Let's see if they saved enough of the "kick-backs" from the bad contracts they approved to buy themselves out of some real jail time.
