We want development...but not that much!

There is this ongoing push to make the inner core more desirable, and increase urban Ashbyapts density. Without continued Inner Loop in-fill development, property values could stagnate, among other issues.  However, the various planned mixed use development has gotten decidedly mixed results.  In areas where there is little nearby residential, most people have welcomed the idea.  In the upper crust Southhampton and Boulevard Oaks neighborhood, a potential mixed used high rise is freaking neighbors out.  They've planned an Emergency Meeting, and the flyers floating around are downright SCARY.  I guess when you live in some of the nicest, single family neighborhoods in town, a high rise can be scary.  Of course, if the City had the dreaded zoning, this wouldn't happen.  But... Anyway... click on the image, read and go to the meeting if you wish.
