Astrodome, future and now...

Here are some renderings from the Astrodome Redevelopment  Corporation.  You know the Texans and the Rodeo have come out against the proposal, so can the dome survive?  On a slightly  unrelated note, I went inside the Astrodome today... and guess what I found? Some relics of another sort:  The Metro Midtown Trolleys.  Remember those?  The trolleys that once trolled through midtown were discontinued a few years back.  It appears that Reliant Park picked up the trolleys.  They are stored inside the Astrodome, and are used whenever Reliant has a major event and needs to transport a lot of people around the complex.

It is funny how the "Rodeo" and the "Texans" (football team previous - Oilers) got thier start in the ASTRODOME. Now they are afraid of lost revenue if the Astrodome is redeveloped. Non sense - they
are only occuping the premises on a short basis yearly. But have all venue naming rights and concessions - ALL about MONEY!

This is the 8th wonder of the world! - First domed stadium with air conditioning.

ASTRODOME is one of the symbols of Houston.I may even call it call our ID picture.Everybody remembers its picture from Rodeo shows.So,we should not change its look and keep it as it is.

The Astreodome must be used for baseball! I think someone young such as a teenagers hould rent the Astrodome and set up a baseball ternament in it!

They should make the astrodome into an entertainment center
and not listen to the Texans (they never win anyways), and the Rodeo used the Astrodome and then they forgot all about it. And that is true the Texans dont play all year long and the Rodeo is only there once a year.

I would like to see one of the Astros minor league teams move to Houston and play in the Dome, much like the Rangers who have a minor league team in Frisco.

As a individual that works at Reliant Park, I feel the Hotel idea is great. The Astrodome is just sitting there rotting away, inside and out believe me. As for the pictures that were posted, yes trolls are just stored on the dome floor. Are we just using this as a Giant Storage? put it to good use. As someone from Reliant Park.. Houston, the idea for the Astrodome is the best thing that could ever happen to it. If you have seen inside/out what i have you would know its in desperate need of some renovations.
