Inaugural Shocker: Khan not Mayor Pro Tem
Whoa! Those last minute maneuvers sure changed things! MJ Khan is NOT the Mayor Pro Tem. He respectfully declined the nomination today, thanks to a variety of pressures behind closed doors. You would think that Ronald Green would have been in line, but after resigning his Fiscal Affairs Chairmanship and vocally voicing his dissatisfaction, that was not to be. So who is the new Mayor Pro Tem? Adrian Garcia! Yes, the former police officer and current sheriff candidate, is now also Mayor Pro Tem. And Sue Lovell is Vice Mayor Pro Tem. I'll write more about this later.. but that's a pretty surprising development!
Stupid question, but I thought CM's had to resign in order to run for another office. Is that true or is that only true for county and state offices?
