Eye popping numbers for Skelly

Skelly_photoMichael Skelly, the former wind energy exec. now turned novice politician, told me he was going to deliver big March fundraising number last month.  His campaign is now eagerly circulating its latest numbers.

According to his campaign, through March 31, Skelly's coffers:

Raised: $796,809

Cash on Hand: $666,506Culberson_photo

Not bad for a Dem. guy who is still working on his political persona, and who's running an uphill battle against a well connected Repub. incumbent.  For his part, current Congressman John Culberson didn't do too bad, either.  According to the FEC, through March 31:

Raised:  $589,053

Cash on Hand:  $270,726

I can't wait to see the campaign commercials!  Both sides will fight a tough fight, and as many political pundits have said, big bucks doesn't guarantee a win.. but as far as first time campaigns go, it certainly could be going worse.  That said, Culberson is maintaining that he is the Republican "Firewall" this election cycle.   Oh... maybe the two of them can block walk along the light rail line on Richmond.. you know:  one guy on the North side of the street, the other on the South... I'd go shoot some of that video

I sure hope he can beat Culberson. When I was living in his district, every letter I sent him expressing my concerns was responded to with completely unrelated and nonfactual stock letter. I hope Skelley will listen more to his constituents, if elected.
