I spotted this billboard in downtown Houston today. It encourages
people to vote Republican and features a smiling Sarah Palin. So,
um... John McCain doesn't get a photo?

Apparently pimping out Sarah Palin is supposed to bring in the sorely needed white woman vote. That's the only new angle for the republicans. All the old white guys who are voting for McCain don't need to be pursued, although you'd think they'd need a reminder.
" Pimping out"........now your getting mean & ugly. Nice "Tex-ass"
Comment and no wonder the rest of the nation pokes fun of Houston. Your ignorance is appaling& your negativity belongs somewhere off shore..... perhaps in the steamy gulf.
I bet you think she wears seal fur & lives in an igloo too!
Sarah Palin is a strong, confident, good looking, successful woman....she comes to the table with MANY years of both private and governmental success and with an 80% approval rating. She told Sen. Obama how the cow eats the cabbage and then some, and the only one who is getting 'pimped' is the senator himself.
When she is Vice-President, Sen. Obama will be UNDER her. Of course, we all know he always was...

Why not have a picture of Sarah? Doesn't smooth BOTOX Joe have a sign with "just him" on it?
She has regenerated the people and let's them know she doesn't assume to be better than them - that she's just like us!!
Why not give her the credit for her role as a Mayor and Governor of Alaska. She actually has a higher Security Clearance than J.B. or B. Hussein because of her state's vulnerability to anti-American threats. The Air Force has NORAD in Alaska and works directly with the State in the event of any threats by Air, etc.
Because our mainstream media has been so biased, many people have not been given the opportunity to know Sarah. Women - aren't you concerned about how others treat her? I am!! One day you may decide to be in government or one of your daughters. Do you want them to be treated the same way?
Wake up America!! Give this woman a chance to show you she's a leader!!
Gov Palin is a VERY remarkable woman. She has the experience and the intelligence to be a top-notch Veep, and a top-notch POTUS! Anybody who can take care of a family of 5 children (and one handicapped), run the largest state in the union, and campaign for Veep all at the same time (and have an 80% approval rating running AK) is somebody who can handle ANYTHING. Gov Palin, I can't WAIT until you are sworn in as Vice President of the United States and make history!!!
Wonderful billboard!!! I am proud to cast my vote for McCain/Palin. Honor, integrity, experience, true patriots with the plans that will bring prosperity to all Americans ... oh, and by the way, shatter that glass ceiling, Sarah!!!
As I was driving up 45N, there was the usual snag in traffic, but it seemed different. The cars were moving slowly like "rubber necking" a traffic accident. Then I looked to my left and there it was. I hit my brakes, too! It was Sarah Palin on the billboard of a lifetime. I continued on to the Allen Parkway exit to do a U turn. As I approach the on ramp, the traffic was blogged coming northbound. I made my way in and got to the left to get a closer look. All traffic taking the 59S exit was slowing down and staring. There was nothing to keep that two lanes of traffic moving at normal speed. But as I approached the billboard, I knew what was slowing down the traffic. It was Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin in Houston. And it was Sarah Palin on prime time billboards. There is HOPE after all.
I wonder why the Democrats, or Democrat affiliates, don't put up a billboard. According to Chron article last month, minorities make up 63% of Harris County's population--and who better to bear the flag of equality and opportunity to immigrants and minorities than Obama. I mean, what does a picture of Palin say to immigrants? What exactely has Palin done for immigrants? What is her stance on immigration and on minority issues? Wanna take a guess? I mean, come on Democrats, our growing numbers make HC a big blue blob in a very red state and we're growing! All you have to do is to put pictures of the candidates with their supporting crowds in the backdrop side by side. It says it ALL!
The Chron article said:
"Of U.S. counties with populations exceeding 1 million, Harris is now estimated to have the third-highest number of minority residents. They comprise 63 percent of the county's population, which is the ninth-highest percentage in the country. Texas counties ranking higher than Harris are Bexar County with 68 percent and Dallas County with 64 percent."
I had guests visiting from another state when we drove past the billboard for the first time. I was so embarrassed.
What can you say about a billboard that doesn't even show the face or the name of the person actually running for office? I have never seen or heard of a similar billboard up for Joe Biden, even in his home of Delaware! (And if it did exist, it would also be ridiculous!)
Here we have this silly board, showing the face of a young, inexperienced governor who is increasingly disliked by moderates and independents - you know, the swing votes who actually matter in this and most elections?
Far from being hopeful about her, I'm shocked that anyone could claim she's experienced and prepared, when she can't even name a newspaper she reads on a regular basis, "off the cuff". Not even the "Anchorage Daily News," Sarah? She can't even describe the Bush Doctrine? Not to mention the sleazy pursuit of her ex-brother-in-law. And by the way, I have done business with people in Wasilla. She is NOT well liked as an administrator, thanks to her poor management skills. I suppose her supporters aren't aware that she fought long and hard against closing the bars earlier in the evening (at a more decent hour of 2 AM), even though there was evidence of a rise in domestic violence, and that folks were driving down from Anchorage after the bars closed there. And let's not even get into the whole "making women pay to have their rape kits developed" thing. You call this a family-oriented candidate?
I'm just sorry so many Republicans can't see what an eyesore she is to the party.
Personally, it's enough for me to ask McCain if I can get my 2000 primary vote back.
Your high quality articles are so great, and can we buy some ads from you? If you agree, just emial me the ad type and fee per month. If you own some other high quality related blogs, selling ads would be welcomed.
Bought this for my husband as a Christmas present. I ended up giving it to him early because he had a very important business trip, and I wanted him to look his
best. He absolutely loved it! He loves the large face, and the weight of the watch. It looks so classy
and sophisticated. It added the perfect frosting on my already gorgeous husband!

Of all the designs/messages they could have put at such a prime billboard location!!!!! Could have done much better with that space.
