Stalwart Republican says: realists believe in miracles
I had a nice chat with Houstonian Fred Zeidman this afternoon. For those unfamiliar, Zeidman is a the National Vice Chair of John McCain's campaign, among many hats he wears. He is close with the current President Bush, and was with John McCain when he launched his Presidential bid two years ago. Fred is a realist. And as he surveyed the muted crowd trickling into the Biltmore Hotel, he knows it's going to be a long shot. However, he's nowhere near throwing in the towel. Quoting someone who said you couldn't be a realistic without believing in miracles, Fred gamely said, "I believe in miracles." He believes in McCain.
He did agree with me on one point: the split set up by the campaign. Most supporters will be in a ballroom with most of the media. However, McCain will give his speech outside, set to be beamed out by another set of media. Fred also thought the split set up was unusual... simply because it's usually easier to keep track of people when everyone's at one place.
The entire area will hold a few thousand people.. I've counted around eight from the Houston area.

Tonight Mccain will win it for sure!!! Heres a sweet time line of Mccains Campaign that I found whilst stumbling around online.
