Former Police Chief now wants to be on City Council

Co-bradford As they say in politics, if at first you don't succeed, run for something else!  That's exactly what former Police Chief C.O. "Brad" Bradford is doing.  As many of you may recall, Bradford lost a race against Pat Lykos for the District Attorney's job this past November.

Now, Bradford has his sights set on Houston City Council.  He's running for the At Large 4 seat currently occupied by Ronald Green.  Green, by the way, is planning on running for Controller.  Here's a portion of Bradford's release:

“It is certainly an honor to serve in the public sector. Making a difference for the greater good of all is a tremendous reward. As Houston moves forward, we must get better prepared to deal with issues such as public safety, budget restraints, critical infrastructure repairs, representation via council redistricting and many others.” stated Bradford. “After careful consideration, I am most honored to be asked by so many friends, supporters, and family to run for Houston City Council. I will utilize my experience, training, and education to help improve the quality of life in this wonderful community, Houston, Texas.”

I know first we still have the District H special election to worry about, but I guess the former Police Chief wants to get a head start on another race for public office.

Wasn't Bradford forced to resign as Police Chief under somewhat dubious circumstances? Now he wants to put that "talent" to work in city council? I think he's looking for an easy way to steal.

Yep....he ORDERED a bunch of PO's to arrest teens on the KMART parking lot....the PO's got letters of reprimand or days off and 'ol slick' here skated free.
We need him on city council like we need another Ike...

AR

This loser needs to take solace in the fact that he has a very hefty pension, sweetened just before his departure for incompetence, and spare our citizenry the specter of him being in or near any position of responsibility

Royko

Troubling indeed.
