Mayor White appoints former County Judge candidate to job

Mincberg David Mincberg didn't get to be County Judge despite sinking a lot of money into the campaign.  But, he's got a new gig, and it's not a bad deal.  Mayor Bill White just appointed Mincberg to the Houston Housing Authority Board.  Mincberg made his money building apartments, and previously served as one of those "dollar-a-year" advisors to Mayor White.  Here's a portion of the release.

Mayor Bill White today announced he is appointing businessman/attorney David Mincberg to the Houston Housing Authority (HHA) Board of Commissioners. Mincberg, CEO of Flagship Properties Corp., will fill an open seat on the board. He is expected to replace Timothy F. Seckinger in the chairman's position. Seckinger will remain on the board during a transition period.

"Tim has done an outstanding job and we are grateful for his leadership, steady hand and his willingness to serve," said Mayor White. "I have asked David to take up the reins and he is highly qualified and committed to continuing the progress through which Tim has guided HHA."

The Mayor added that he is asking Mincberg to focus on several things, including examining all of HHA's operations, with a particular eye toward customer service, acceleration of efforts to create opportunities for first-time home buyers, and asset management practices of the Authority.

Mincberg did such a "great" job the last time he was in charge of housing in Houston... So "great" in fact that he abandoned the job only weeks after being out in it and never did a damned thing!

I don't know how Mr.Micberg will save this mess at the City of houston HUD DHAP-Ike program with out just "cleaning house" I as a landlord have been so discrimenated against as well as my renter it's crazy Tim Seckinger is the only one that has commited to me to help. I'm sorry to se him go The system does not work! Either offer the benefits and help or don't offer at all. Without Landlords willing to house the people whom lost their homes there is no DHAP-IKE! very dissapointed an out $5,500 dolloars to date.
