Study up on Swine Flu!

The City of Houston is attacking swine flu on the informational front. With the H1N1 virus spreading around the country, local health departments are seeing an increase number of calls and questions. Earlier today, City Council approved two different contracts to tackle the virus. It will spend $317,000 to implement a full communications plan for both the seasonal flu and H1N1. In addition, the city is spending another $190,000 to develop a high volume call center to answer your flu-related questions. A full public health campaign is also being implemented.
